Hollybrook Dressage League 2018

Brennanstown has been a busy place the last few Sundays with the Hollybrook Riding Club’s annual Inter Club Dressage League commencing on Sunday 7th October. As usual, there was a good representation of Brennanstown people and horses and they produced some good results. Very well done to Nick and Rachel Harding who produced the winning test in a hot class of 16 Intermediate riders while Ger Doyle with Charlie came 2nd. Calvin with Linda Cullen in her first competition, came a very credible 3rd in the Primary Section, while Dervilla Glynn and Oki (just returned from a great clear in the Open Class at the Bray Hunter Trials with Laura) took the 3rd place ribbon in the Advanced Intermediate Class. Anne Kelly and Darcy was 3rd in the Open, while husband, Eamon, with Oscar was 6th in the Intermediate. Ann was also 2nd in the Veteran Rider class, while Ruth Lambert, with Rhythm was 3rd in this Class and also rode a good test in the Intermediate section. Rio and Leisel, just returning to riding club activity after a number of years, was 5th in a class of 18 Advanced Primaries.

Week Two took place on Sunday 14th October. Thankfully the sun shone for most of the day after the dreadful weather on both Friday and Saturday. Once again, Brennanstown horses acquitted themselves really well, with Calvin and Linda winning the Primary Class in only their second competition together. Sarah and Orion took the red ribbon in a very hot Advanced Primary Class much to Sarah's delight - by her own admission, she would prefer to be jumping! Consistent Nick and Rachel secured 3rd place in the Intermediate Class and are looking good for overall league success having won in week 1. Ruth and Rhythm took home the 6th place ribbon in this class. Tonto with Deirdre were 3rd in the Primary while Oki and Dervilla were 5th in the Advanced Intermediate section where Delphi and Miller were placed 6th.
